Medium frequency induction hardening

Biagini Industries srl (in wich it evolved Biagini Tempra Metalli srl) has always invested in the latest technologies and systems to better meet the demands of customers who wish to harden their products through the method of induction hardening.

We have 10 IGBT generators with MEDIUM-low variable frequency.

We have been operating in the field of induction hardening since 1985 and were among the first to invest in variable frequency systems, which allow us to increase the types of details handled on the same system.

Current machinery includes 17 systems for induction hardening with high, medium and low frequency and power ranging from 100 kW to 1000 kW. The frequency range allows us to achieve a hardening depth from 0.5 mm to 30 mm. Power on the other hand gives us the possibility to range from small to large size details.

How does medium frequency induction hardening differ from high and low frequency?

Medium-frequency induction hardening is used to obtain hardening from 2 to 6 mm in depth; high frequency induction hardening is used for hardening depths from 0.6 to 2 mm; low frequency induction hardening is used for heating to depths up to and exceeding 30mm.

The working frequency, and the power of a system for induction hardening must be selected according to the requirement for the hardening depth to be obtained, and the size of the detail to be treated.
